These Economic Estimates are Official Statistics used to provide an estimate of the contribution of DCMS Sectors to each region in the UK economy, measured by GVA (gross value added).

These statistics cover the contributions of the following DCMS sectors to each region in the UK economy;

  • Creative Industries
  • Cultural Sector
  • Digital Sector
  • Gambling
  • Sport
  • Telecoms

A definition for each sector is available in the associated methodology note along with details of methods and data limitations.

  1. The regional GVA statistics were updated on 21st February 2019 to correct an error in the 2013 data for individual DCMS sector figures and the 2016 data for the Cultural and Digital sub-sectors. These changes do not affect results included in this report.
