The ZIP file provided here only includes those new tables published in this release. Some regular quarterly tables for this quarter were released in an interim release.

Statistics on the number and pass rates of driving and riding theory and practical tests conducted in Great Britain for the year-ending March 2022 (April 2021 to March 2022), and also statistics on driving instructors.

In the year-ending March 2022, there were:

  • 2,464,000 car theory tests conducted
  • 1,538,000 car practical tests conducted

Compared with the year-ending 2020, this was:

  • an increase of 32% for car theory tests
  • a decrease of 4% for car practical tests

The pass rate in the year-ending March 2022 was:

  • 50.1% for car theory tests
  • 48.9% for car practical tests
