The latest England dwelling stock estimates statistics produced by the Department for Communities and Local Government were released on Tuesday 30 November 2010.

The latest statistics report on dwelling stock in England as at 31 March 2010.

The main points from the latest release are:

  • there were an estimated 22,693,000 dwellings in England as at 31 March 2010, an increase of 0.57% on the previous year
  • in 2010, the region with the largest dwelling stock was the South East, with 3.66 million homes, followed by London (3.3 million) and the North West (3.1 million); the region with the smallest dwelling stock was the North East, with 1.16 million homes
