The Farm Practices Survey (FPS) asks questions about how farming practices in England are affected by current agricultural and environmental issues. This publication gives the results of the FPS run in February 2012.

This survey focused on farm practices in the English uplands, and the sample was targeted to farms in those areas. The main topics were:

  • farm characteristics
  • economics of the farm business
  • participation in agri-environment schemes
  • grazing and grassland management
  • future plans and challenges
