Details

This publication provides further analysis of estimates of fuel poverty in England.

It shows:

  • the projection of 2024 fuel poverty reflecting changes to energy efficiency, energy prices and household incomes, including changes to the state pension; the rate of fuel poverty is projected to decrease to 12.7% in 2024, from 13.0% in 2023
  • when the Winter Fuel Payment is restricted to households receiving Pension Credit or any other Means Tested Benefit, and if all other factors are held constant including any changes to Pension Credit uptake, the proportion of fuel poor households is projected to remain effectively unchanged at 12.7% in 2024
