Further breakdowns of criminal histories of offenders cautioned in 12 months up to March 2013

This ad-hoc statistical notice presents further breakdowns of already published information on criminal histories.

Details

Table 1 provides information on the total number of previous cautions given to adult offenders (including previous reprimands or warnings given whilst a juvenile) who were cautioned in the year ending March 2013. Information are presented both in terms of those cautions, reprimands or warnings received at any point previously and for those received within the preceding 24 months.

Table 2 provides a similar type of breakdown as that presented in table 1 but the statistics are based only on those previous cautions that were given for the same offence as that dealt with in the year ending March 2013.

Table 3 also provides a similar analysis but the statistics are based on counting those previous cautions that were given for offences of the same type as that dealt with in the latest year. Offences have been grouped into 12 high level categories for these purposes.

Table 4 provides a police force area breakdown of the statistics presented in table 3.
