This statistical release provides information on the achievements in GCSE examinations and other qualifications of young people in academic year 2018 to 2019.

This typically covers those starting the academic year aged 15.

The information is from data collated for the 2018 to 2019 secondary school performance tables (key stage 4).

1. 24 May 2022

   Updated the ‘KS4 urban/rural school location’ data in the ‘Pupil residency and school location data’ document. This now includes the same breakdowns for England as for each English region.

2. 7 September 2020

   Updated table data for total progress 8 scores to show as 3 decimal points. Tables updated are 'Local authority characteristics data', 'Local authority data', 'National characteristics data' and 'National data'.

3. 19 February 2020

   Updated 'Pupil residency and school location data' to include additional data on Attainment 8 score distribution and to correct a formula error on the FSM sheet.

4. 6 February 2020

   Added 'National characteristics tables'.
