Landings in October 2021 consist mainly of pelagic species (around 75 per cent of landings) which typically fetch a lower price than demersal and shellfish species. This is driven by increased uptake of Mackerel – a key pelagic species – as October usually is a peak month for fishing pressure and therefore landings on this species.
