Details

This release focuses on the attainment statistics of pupils who attended academies in multi-academy trusts (MATs) in England in the 2021 to 2022 academic year. It includes:

  • key stage 2: national curriculum assessments
  • key stage 4: GCSE results
  • key stage 5: attainment across academic and applied general cohorts

It includes pupil-characteristic breakdowns such as:

  • gender
  • ethnicity
  • disadvantage status
  • prior attainment group

It also includes trust-characteristic breakdowns such as:

  • MAT type and size
  • number of years an academy has been part of a MAT

This is the first publication of MAT attainment statistics since 2019 due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In 2019, MAT national statistics were released as separate publications for each key stage. This publication covers all 3 key stages.
