Details

This publication includes New Enterprise Allowance (NEA) statistics:

  • from April 2011 to December 2017 for phase 1 of the scheme
  • any starts since phase 2 began in April 2017

Read about how we produce these statistics in the background information note.

NEA can provide money and support to help people start or grow their own business.

Changes to the New Enterprise Allowance official statistics

This release of quarterly official statistics release is the final publication in the series.

In future, we are proposing to combine the NEA statistics with other labour market statistics.

This new statistical series will be released every 6 months rather than quarterly.

We are proposing that the following tables will not be included in the new release of statistics – individuals starting on NEA by:

  • local authority
  • parliamentary constituency
  • Jobcentre Plus district
  • Jobcentre Plus group

All the other existing NEA tables will be published in the new series.
