These statistics provide:
- the number of members and value of individual contributions to personal pensions
- the estimated cost of pension income tax and National Insurance contribution (NIC) relief
- statistics on annual allowance and lifetime allowance charges
- statistics on taxable flexible payments from pensions

These statistics have been updated to include the latest year of available data. In some instances there have been revisions to previously published statistics.

The number of individuals withdrawing from a pension flexibly in Q2 2022 has been amended from 2,036,000 to 508,000 (table 9). Also, we’ve linked to the consultation on HMRC’s statistics publications.
