Provisional quarterly statistics on freight handled at major UK sea ports.
Comparing October to December 2017 with the same period in 2016:
- the total freight tonnage through UK major ports decreased by 1% to 115.0 million tonnes
- the total volume of unitised traffic through UK major ports decreased 1% to 5.6 million units
Comparing the rolling year to December 2017 with the same period in 2016:
- the total tonnage through UK major ports decreased 1% to 468.8 million tonnes
- the total volume of unitised traffic decreased 1% to 23.8 million units
Detailed final annual statistics for 2017 will be published in summer 2018.
