Main trends
Main trends in special consideration in GCSE, AS and A level in summer 2018 exam series were:
- In total, there were 615,295 special consideration requests, up 1% from 2017.
- 571,615 special considerations were approved in 2018, meaning there was an approved special consideration request for 3.5% of all assessments.
- Almost all special consideration requests (93%) were approved, similar to last year.
- The most frequent mark adjustment in 2018 was 2% of the maximum mark, whereas last year it was 3%.
