Details

The Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS) has investigated the two potential areas of bias that could affect the trade union membership statistics, identified in the annual publication. These areas are:

  • the accuracy of proxy responses used in the labour force survey (LFS)
  • the data on collective agreements

These areas could lead to uncertainty in the trade union membership estimates. This report explains the issues further.
