The trade union membership statistics 2023 are Official Statistics in Development that use the Labour Force Survey to provide an estimate of the levels and density of trade union membership for all UK workers. It also covers union presence and collective bargaining.

The list of individuals granted pre-release access to the publication has been amended. The previous version of the publication stated that the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, The Minister of State with responsibility for labour market and employment rights, The Special Advisor and the policy official responsible for trade union policy have pre-release access to these statistics. This has been corrected to state that only The Permanent Secretary for the Department for Business and Trade had pre-release access to the statistics in the release.
