Aerospace
This covers:
- aircraft (including naval aircraft)
- aircraft related equipment such as aircraft simulators and air launched weapons
AW159
Also known as Future Lynx/Lynx Wildcat, it is a maritime surveillance and attack helicopter built by Leonardo (formerly AgustaWestland).
Contract
Agreement between 2 or more parties to perform a service or provide a product.
Cyber security
Protection of networked information systems.
Department for International Trade
UK government department responsible for securing UK and global prosperity by promoting and financing international trade and investment, and championing free trade.
Eurofighter Typhoon
Advanced multi-role combat aircraft.
Export Control Joint Unit (ECJU)
The ECJU administers the UK’s system of export controls and licensing for military and dual-use items.
F-16
Single-engine multirole fighter aircraft.
F-35
Single-seat, single-engine, all-weather stealth multirole fighter aircraft built by Lockheed Martin.
Foreign military sales (FMS)
The US Department of Defense’s FMS programme facilitates sales of US arms, defence equipment, defence services, and military training to foreign governments.
FREMM
European multi-purpose frigate.
GlobalEye
Multi-role airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) platform from Swedish defence and security company Saab.
GOV.UK
A United Kingdom public sector information website, created by the Government Digital Service to provide a single point of access to HM Government services.
Government-to-government
A government to government relationship is often required to support and secure high value export opportunities, strengthen bilateral relationships and provide a framework for future export success.
Hawk aircraft
Single-engine, jet-powered advanced trainer aircraft.
HMG
Her Majesty’s Government
Land
Ground based platforms (for example tanks, armoured vehicles), equipment and ground-based weapons.
Meko A-200 frigate
Combat ship designed by German shipbuilding company Blohm and Voss.
MH-60R
Twin turboshaft engine, multi-mission helicopter.
Offshore patrol vessel (OPV)
A highly versatile ship, designed to perform Economic Exclusion Zone management roles, including the provision of maritime security to coastal areas and effective disaster relief.
Orders
Products/services requested by customers that appear in a company’s order book.
P-8A
Maritime patrol aircraft developed and produced by Boeing.
Platform
A vehicle (such as a satellite or aircraft) used for a particular purpose or to carry a usually specified kind of equipment.
Sale
The actual exchange of money between customer and exporter.
Sea
Ships, submarines, ship launched weapons, naval dockyards.

Three spool high bypass turbofan aircraft engine made by Rolls-Royce.
