UK defence export statistics 2022: notice of correction

During production of the 2022 statistics, it was found that some incorrect values had been used in previous releases, due to the way that data relating to Australian and Canadian defence contracts had been collected and interpreted. The affected data have been replaced in full for the 2022 statistics release, and more robust processes are now treating the data correctly.
The affected data related to contracts not only from 2022 but from all historical years in the collected data. Therefore, the changes described above have affected all years shown in the 2022 statistics release, which covers the 10-year period from 2013 to 2022. The correction of this issue has resulted in a 2.3% net reduction in the total value of defence orders over the period from 2013 to 2022.
Previously published statistics have not been revised to correct this issue. Please continue to only use the most recent publication for information about UK defence exports, including exports for years prior to 2022.
