European Political Community meeting 2024

The UK government will host the fourth European Political Community meeting (EPC) at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire on 18 July 2024.

The EPC meeting brings together around 50 leaders from across Europe to cooperate on important issues. It allows European countries to progress discussions which affect the continent as a whole, and to hold bilateral discussions and smaller working groups of particular countries.

EPC meetings provide an opportunity for leaders to cooperate on important issues including Ukraine, energy security, and migration.

This year’s meeting will take place at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of former Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill. Read the full press release announcing the EPC meeting.

Previous summits were held in Prague, Czechia (September 2022); Chisinau, Moldova (June 2023) and Granada, Spain (October 2023).

In Granada, the UK led discussions on AI and illegal migration. In Moldova, the focus was on supporting the host country in the face of Russian hybrid threats, as well as building energy resilience. At the first EPC meeting in Prague, talks centred around Putin’s invasion of Ukraine and the need for Europe to stand united against Russian aggression.
