Commenting on the burning of a mosque by Israeli settlers in al-Jabaa village near Bethlehem, British Consul General, Dr. Alastair McPhail, said:

I strongly condemn the burning of a mosque and spraying of racist graffiti in Al-Jabaa village this morning. The basic right of freedom to worship in safety and security should be available for everyone from different religions. Attacks of this nature only undermine the cause of peace. The UK calls for a swift and transparent investigation into the incident and for those responsible to be brought to justice.
