UK Trade & Investment in Luanda recently played host to a small group of British businesses, led by British Expertise, drawn from the Construction sector. British Expertise is a private sector organisation for British companies offering professional services internationally.

The main objective of the visit was to produce a scoping report for members of British Expertise to see the many opportunities within the Construction sector in the Angolan marketplace. The scoping report is available, for free, on the British Expertise website www.britishexpertise.org

Via a tailor made programme arranged by UKTI, the group had two days of high level calls including Ministers and various relevant Ministries, local construction companies, banks and the Chamber of Commerce. Feedback was positive and many who came saw the opportunities for their companies services within the growing infrastructure in the country.

As a direct result of this visit, one UK Company has already indicated that they will be returning to the market shortly to discuss with local partners the possibility of engaging with local companies.
