Celebrating debating prowess in Bhopal with GREAT Britain Debate
Institute For Excellence In Higher Education (IEHE) wins the Bhopal edition of the GREAT Britain Debate.

Shreya Pandey and Ramsha Ansari, students of the IEHE, Bhopal were declared the prize winning team for the GREAT Britain Debate this year held at the Jagran Lakecity University on Monday, 16 January 2017.
The GREAT Britain Debate competition is a unique opportunity to celebrate UK and India’s shared culture of vibrant discussion and debate. The Bhopal edition of the debate was held in association with Jagran Lakecity University to celebrate and encourage debating prowess and to bring forth informed discussion amongst the student fraternity.
15 teams competed at the debate on the topic of ‘Demonetisation and the Indian economy’ at the university auditorium after weeks of preparation amidst an atmosphere of enthusiasm and interest. In its 4th edition, the GREAT Britain debate is a wonderful opportunity through which the British High Commission engages with the Generation Next. It celebrates the UK and India’s deep interest in the debating culture.
Winners of the GREAT Britain Debate recieved a Kindle, British Council Library membership, HeySuccess premium membership.
The GREAT Britain Debate is organised by the British High Commission network in partnership with the Chevening scholarships in India. This year the competition is being held across Delhi, Bhopal, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Patiala, Dehradun and Jaipur.
The GREAT Britain Debate 2016-17 will revolve around the themes which are priority areas for both the UK and India with topics ranging from technology to economy and finance, ease of doing business, urban and smart cities among others.

Chevening is the British government’s flagship global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and partner organisations. - the British Council is offering GREAT scholarships 2016-17 worth over 1.5 million, 291 scholarships will be offered in partnership with 45 universities. A total of 59 undergraduate and 232 postgraduate awards will be offered for a range of subjects ranging from engineering and law to art and design and information technology across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland
- Commonwealth scholarships for students from developing Commonwealth countries are offered for Master’s, PhD, and split-site (PhD) study in the UK. These scholarships are funded by the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID). On average 60 Indian students are supported by the Commonwealth programme each year.
