UK and Taiwan signs MOU on Intellectual Property
UK and Taiwan signs MOU on Intellectual Property to increase information sharing and cooperation.
The British Trade & Cultural Office in Taiwan and the Taipei Representative Office in the UK completed the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Intellectual Property on 17 September 2013. Under the MOU, the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office and the UK Intellectual Property Office agreed to increase information sharing and cooperation.
Mr. Chris Wood, Director of the British Trade & Cultural Office, said: ‘Taiwan and the UK are at the global forefront of innovation and the creative industries, so it is vital that the two offices work together to create the right regulatory climate to support this.’
According to the MOU, Taiwan and the UK will exchange views on international IP issues, including internet piracy, patent law harmonization and changes in IPR legislation.
