UK marks Human Rights Day
Human Rights Day is observed by the international community every year on 10 December. It commemorates the day in 1948 the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
To mark this special occasion, the British Ambassador to Honduras, Her Excellency Sarah Dickson, said:
On International Human Rights day the UK pays tribute to those individuals and associations that promote and strive for the protection and realisation of human rights and fundamental freedoms for all. We are strong supporters of the EU Guidelines on Human Rights defenders and attach great importance to the work of Human Rights Defenders across the world.
We are proud of British NGOs’ and their work in Honduras and we greatly look forward to working together with the new Minister for Human Rights on efforts to implement international Human Rights norms when the government is formed in January.
