UK Minister for Europe to visit Iceland following recent elections
Minister for Europe, David Lidington MP, will visit Iceland from 19 to 20 June.
During his visit, the minister will meet members of the newly elected government and business representatives before addressing a symposium to discuss the UK and Iceland’s relationship with Europe.
Speaking ahead of the visit, the minister said:
I’m delighted to be the first British government minister to visit Iceland following the recent elections and the first Foreign and Commonwealth Office minister for many years. I’m greatly looking forward to discussing areas of shared interest between our 2 countries including our relationship with Europe, renewable energy, and important business links.
Minister for Europe, David Lidington MP, will be speaking at a symposium at the University of Iceland at midday on 20 June. The theme will be “The UK and Europe - our road ahead”.
