All guidance documents for the packaging of Low Heat Generating Waste (LHGW)
Nuclear Waste Services (NWS) has recently updated and redeveloped the Waste Package Specification (WPS) for Low Heat Generating Waste (LHGW); Part C and D. In order to support waste packagers and the supply chain in meeting the requirements set out in the WPS, NWS is currently in the early stages of redeveloping and updating NWS’ suite of thematic guidance material (both published and un-published documents). It is expected to take several years to fully redevelop the suite and updates will be made periodically in a prioritised manner.
NWS recognise that some of the guidance documents presented on this page do not align with the recently updated WPS for LHGW, are out-of-date, and do not align with NWS’ knowledge base. Therefore, it is strongly encouraged that waste producers and the supply chain contact NWS’ Waste Management Directorate to discuss the latest position via strategicwasteprogramme@nda.gov.uk or rwmfeedback@nda.gov.uk.
