If you are applying to export fruit, vegetables, ware potatoes or cut flowers, you may have the option to apply under the plant health exports audited trader scheme (PHEATS).
You’ll need a Government Gateway account - if you do not already have one, you can set one up.
Before you start
Check the rules about your commodity set by the IPPC official contact in the importing country. You may not need to apply for a certificate.
Find out what fees you’ll pay.
You need a re-forwarding certificate to re-export goods. Re-export (also known as re-forwarding) is when goods are imported into a country and then exported to another country. Find out more about re-exporting.
You apply a different way to export plants from Scotland and Northern Ireland. Contact the plant health authorities in Scotland and Northern Ireland for more information.
There’s a different process for exporting wood, wood packaging or products made from wood.
