Apply for the Heat Training Grant: discounted heat network training 

If you work in heat networks, you could get up to £500 towards the cost of heat network training.

What you can get

You can get a grant of up to £500 towards eligible courses in the following areas:

  • heat network feasibility and design
  • heat network construction
  • heat networks operation and maintenance
  • heat networks metering and billing and data collection
  • local authorities and developers

You can get one grant per person. All courses offered will cost up to £600, meaning all or most of the cost will be covered by the grant.

Eligibility

You’re eligible for the grant if:

  • you’re based in England

There may be additional requirements for some of the courses.

How to apply

  1. Choose a course with a participating training provider.

  2. Confirm with the training provider that you’re eligible and whether you need to complete any required training for your preferred course.

  3. Book your preferred course directly with the training provider.

The training provider will apply for the grant on your behalf.

You’ll get the grant either as an upfront discount or a rebate once you’ve completed the training.

Training providers

There are currently 10 training providers taking part in the scheme:

In-person sessions will be held in London (organisations can request in-person sessions anywhere in England for more than 6 trainees)
FairHeat All Online / in person

FairHeat engineers are based all over the country and training would be available in all areas of England.
Guru Systems - Heat network operation and maintenance
- Heat network metering and billing
Online / in person

In-person sessions will primarily be held in the Midlands and North West (contact Guru Systems about other available locations)
Sycous Limited - Heat networks metering, billing and data collection In-person

Sessions can be based anywhere in England depending on trainee requests.
Herts Energy Academy - Heat network construction
- Heat networks operation and maintenance
Online / in person

Hertfordshire (contact Herts Energy about other available locations)
Chirpy Heat - Heat networks operation and maintenance
- Heat network metering, billing and data collection
- Local authorities and developers
Online / in person

In-person sessions will primarily be held in London and Manchester (contact Chirpy Heat about other available locations)

GTEC All Online / in person
