Avoid HM Land Registry requisitions: confirmation of identity

Tips and video on how to avoid requisitions about confirmation of identity.

Applies to England and Wales

Tips

We have to reject applications that are lodged without confirmation of identity when this is required.

We only raise requisitions when customers have lodged incomplete evidence; or where we cannot reject the application at the time of lodgement but we still require confirmation.

This is in relation to attorneys and where a person has changed their name evidenced by:

  • deed poll
  • a statement of truth
  • or statutory declaration

When including ID for attorneys, enclosing a copy of power with an application is not sufficient by itself. We also require confirmation of identity to be provided for the attorney.
