Inspections

If you are on the Early Years Register, we will carry out regular inspections. We inspect 10% of providers only on the Childcare Register each year.

You must continue to show that you are suitable to look after children and follow all requirements. We monitor this through:

• regular inspections
• visits by inspectors, or repeat/additional checks, to follow up any concerns that we receive

If you work on different premises for some of your time, we will inspect you wherever you would normally be at the time of inspection. For instance, if you are a childminder but operate an after-school club on Fridays at a non-domestic premise, and we arrange the inspection for a Friday, we will inspect you there.
