Claiming the Bus Service Operators Grant

How to claim funding from the Bus Service Operators Grant (BSOG).

Applies to England

What the Bus Service Operators Grant is

The Bus Service Operators Grant (BSOG) is a grant paid to operators of eligible bus services and community transport organisations to help them recover some of their fuel costs.

The amount each bus operator receives is based on their annual fuel consumption.

BSOG also aims to benefit passengers by:

  • helping operators keep fares down
  • enabling operators to run services that might otherwise be unprofitable and could lead to cancellation

Who can apply

There are 2 different application forms for the Bus Service Operators Grant (BSOG). Which one you should fill in depends on whether you are a commercial operator or a non-profit organisation.
