British birth, marriage, or death certificates
You can request original copies of British birth, marriage or death certificates online, via the webpage of the General Register Office.

Please note we do not respond to requests or enquiries regarding passport renewals or requests for visas for the UK.
We aim to respond to requests within 10 working days.
Please note that requests via email concerning consular assistance for British citizens abroad and information of a general nature will be kept for two months, following which they will be destroyed. Messages received regarding visas and British passports in the UK will be kept for one month.
