Other registration cases
Information on cases that carry out customs legislation activities and registration may be required.
As a general rule organisations that do not carry out activities covered by the customs legislation in a business capacity are not required to have an EORI number. However, in some cases they do things that are covered by the customs legislation and therefore they may need to apply for one even though they are not a business. These EORI registrations are dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
Examples of these are:
-
UK Military organisations
-
not for profit organisations
-
embassies and consulates
-
international organisations and non-governmental organisations
