Further information on the Research Schools project, a partnership between the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) and the Institute for Effective Education (IEE), can be found on the Education Endowment Foundation website.

Overview

Grants are available for up to 10 schools to develop EEF Research Schools across 3 regions (north, central, south).

The National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL) and EEF are working together on this pilot programme. It aims to identify, grow and develop a group of EEF Research Schools.

Successful schools will translate and support the use of evidence across local and partnership schools to:

  • improve teaching practice
  • raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils
  • close the gap with their peers

Schools with outstanding evidence-based practice in closing the gap, such as Pupil Premium Awards finalists, are strongly encouraged to become involved. You can apply directly if you are a teaching school, or by working together with a teaching school alliance.
