Exceptional financial support for local authorities for 2021-22

Details of support granted to local authorities that have requested exceptional financial support in financial year 2021-22 and the associated external assurance reviews.

Applies to England

In respect of the financial year 2021-22 the government provided 4 councils with support to manage financial pressures via the Exceptional Financial Support framework (EFS).

Four councils received in-principle support but later withdrew their request for EFS. These are noted in the table below.
