Summary
In December 2024, the government announced funding to support local authorities with local plan delivery for those at Regulation 19 stage. In February 2025, the government announced new funding to support local authorities with local plan delivery for those at Regulation 18 stage.
The purpose of this funding is to ensure that local authorities are well-equipped and supported to implement the changes in the revised National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF).
Eligible local authorities at Regulation 19 stage were invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) form by 17 January 2025, and eligible local authorities at Regulation 18 stage were invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) by 28 February 2025 to request a share of this funding. All EOIs have been reviewed.
Two local authorities at Regulation 19 stage have been awarded a share of £500,000.
Eighty local authorities at Regulation 18 stage have been awarded a share of £18,237,000.
