Get help for your inactive or ineffective charity
Get help from the ‘Revitalising Trusts’ programme to either close or revitalise your charity.
Applies to England
Which charities can get support
The ‘Revitalising Trusts’ programme helps charities who find it hard to spend their income on the public benefit. Charity trustees can get help from the programme, and should discuss their charity’s future if it is hard for the charity to:
- get new trustees
- spend your income
- identify beneficiaries
- find time to run the charity
To make sure your charity’s funds are spent on public benefit, your charity could:
- transfer its assets to another charity
- close down, or ‘wind up’
- change its purposes to continue working more effectively
