Jewish Community Protective Security Grant

Apply for a funding contribution to protect synagogues and other Jewish community organisations.

The Jewish Community Protective Security Grant is managed on behalf of the Home Office by the Community Security Trust (CST) to protect synagogues, Jewish educational establishments and community organisations.

Who can apply

You can apply for a funding contribution if your site is at risk of hate crime or terrorism, and you represent:

  • a synagogue
  • a Jewish school or other educational establishment (such as a nursery, primary or secondary school, or a further education yeshiva or seminary)
  • a Jewish community centre

Home Office schemes that offer protective security for other faith communities.

Educational establishments must either:

  • be registered with Ofsted
  • provide documents that prove they do not need to be registered with Ofsted

What the grant covers

If eligible, you will receive a funding contribution towards:

  • security personnel services (guarding), providing visible security staff at your location (during normal operational hours)
  • in some cases, physical security measures such as CCTV and alarms
