The right to apply to the Secretary of State for temporary recognition as a transport manager for LGV operators ceased on 20 May 2024. Applicants who were refused an exemption could appeal to a traffic commissioner within 28 days of the Secretary of State’s decision.

This page provides the forms required to appeal a decision of the Secretary of State to refuse an application for a person to be temporarily recognised as a transport manager for the operation of Light Goods Vehicles (Acquired Rights).

Details:

  • The attached appeals form should be completed in full and sent to GB.appeals@otc.gov.uk

  • Your completed appeal form and any supporting documents must be received within 28 days from the date of the letter notifying you of the refusal of your application for Acquired Rights

  • Once we have received your appeal form and any supporting paperwork the Traffic Commissioner will seek to make a decision within 56 days
