HM Government Ministers
A current list of ministers can be found on the ministers page.
Ministerial Code
The Ministerial Code sets out the standards of conduct expected of ministers and how they discharge their duties. The Code is the responsibility of the Prime Minister.
Ministers’ Interests
It is a key principle of the Ministerial Code that “Ministers must ensure that no conflict arises, or appears to arise, between their public duties and their private interests”. Ministers take personal responsibility for deciding whether and what action is needed to avoid a conflict or the perception of a conflict. They are supported in such decisions by advice from their permanent secretaries and the Independent Adviser on Ministerial Standards.
The List of Ministers’ Interests provides details of ministers’ personal interests that are judged relevant to ministers’ roles and responsibilities by the Independent Adviser on Ministerial Standards. The list is not a register of interests and does not therefore include every interest that a minister has declared in relation to themselves and their family members. The list should be read alongside the parliamentary registers of interests, in which all ministers maintain entries (House of Commons Register of Members’ Financial Interests and the House of Lords Register of Members’ Interests) and any relevant information published by the Electoral Commission.
More information about the process by which ministers manage their interests is set out in the List of Ministers’ Interests and also the annual reports of the Independent Adviser on Ministerial Standards.
Government Ministers and Responsibilities
The List of Ministerial Responsibilities and the List of Non-Ministerial Departments and Executive Agencies provides details of ministers’ portfolios and of the responsible minister for non-ministerial departments and executive agencies. Contact details are also provided for each public body listed.
