This privacy notice explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data; and the rights you have regarding that data.
This notice applies to processing your personal data through The Local Government Capacity Centre’s Learning Programme. Please refer to Homes England’s main privacy notice for further information on how we process personal data for other purposes.
Who we are
Homes England is the trading name adopted by the Homes and Communities Agency, our legal entity.
We are the data controller of the personal data processed. This means that we are responsible for deciding how we collect, use and store your personal data.
Information we collect
Homes England collects personal data about you when you:
- sign up via Microsoft Teams webinars for a learning programme offer
- request to be put on our Local Government Capacity Centre (LGCC) mailing list
- state through our feedback survey that you would like to be part of our user testing groups to help develop future LGCC offers
We collect, store and use the following categories of personal data relating to your:
- first name
- surname
- email address
- profession/seniority
- region
- company or organisation
- images
The learning sessions are recorded for the purposes of publishing to Homes England’s YouTube and other channels. You may be identifiable through the personal data you provide. Before publication, a supplier will be appointed to remove all participants’ personal data (including audio, chat and images).
How we process your information
We use the personal data stated above for sending you:

joining instructions to the learning programme

links to feedback surveys

links to the presentation recordings
Lawful basis to process personal data
We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. This is called the lawful basis. In regards to the above purposes, we rely on the following lawful basis.
Legitimate interest
Processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by Homes England or by a third party, except where such interests are overridden by your interests or fundamental rights and freedoms which require the protection of personal data.
Who your information is shared with
We may share your data with third parties, including third-party service providers.
We require third parties to respect the security of your data and treat it according to the law. We may transfer your personal information outside of the EU. If we do, you can expect a similar degree of protection in respect of your personal information.
Homes England may share your data with:

CPD Certification Services for the purpose of issuing attendees a CPD (Continuing Professional Development) certificate for the sessions attended

a supplier to be appointed for the purposes of removing any participant auditory, chat or video content from the live recordings of the learning sessions to enable them to be published on the Homes England YouTube channel
The learning sessions will be run using Microsoft Teams, and participants will be invited to interact using Microsoft Forms. Both these products sit within Homes England’s Microsoft tenancy.
Where your personal data is stored and processed
All personal data collected directly by Homes England will be stored securely on Homes England IT systems, with only personnel who need access for the purposes of the processing set out above able to access the data.
Where data is shared with third parties, it will be undertaken through secure file transfer or upload. Please refer to the third-party privacy notices to determine the processing and data storage at the point when personal data is shared with those third parties.
How long we keep your personal data for
We will store your data for a period of 3 years from the date you initially registered your interest.
Your rights
Under data protection legislation, in certain circumstances, you have the following rights over the processing of your personal data as described in this notice:
