Report action taken under a volunteer bat roost visitor licence

Use this form to report any action taken under a volunteer bat roost visitor licence.

Applies to England

You must report any action taken under a Volunteer Bat Roost Visitor survey licence (level 1 or level 2). You must submit the form even if no action is taken.

If you do not complete the form, you will no longer be registered to use your licence.

If you are also registered under a CL17, CL18, CL19 or CL20 bat survey class licence, you must complete the survey return form instead of this form.

Change to reporting period

Natural England has extended the end of the current reporting period from 31 May 2024 to 31 October 2024.

You must submit your report of action by 30 November 2024.

Your report of action must cover the new extended reporting period which is 1 June 2023 to 31 October 2024.

When the class licences are renewed in January 2025, this condition will revert back to a 12-month reporting period. The next reporting period will be 1 November 2024 to 31 October 2025.

Before you start

You must:

  • know the names of volunteers you have trained and whether they completed the training in the current reporting period (if you have a CL16 licence)
  • have submitted all your volunteer bat roost visitor reports for the current reporting period to the Bat Conservation Trust
