Report the use of environmental protection equipment

Fire and rescue services in England can use this service to report the use of environmental protection equipment at an incident to the Environment Agency.

Applies to England

The Environment Agency can recharge the cost of environmental protection equipment to the polluter that caused the incident. This ensures future funding of environmental protection equipment for fire services.

To facilitate this process, we’ll ask you to provide the cause of the incident and if you have contact details for the polluter.

Before you start

You’ll need:

  • the name and contact details of the incident commander
  • to know if an Environment Agency officer attended the incident and their name if they attended
  • the address or location of where the incident took place
