Set up your business to move goods out of the UK using transit

How to get your business ready to move goods out of the UK to Common Transit Convention countries.

Before you start moving goods, you must make sure your business is set up to make transit movements.

There are different steps to take if you’re importing goods into the UK under transit.

How to get set up

  1. Get an EORI number.

  2. Work out the amount of transit guarantee you need.

  3. Get access to the New Computerised Transit System (NCTS).

  4. Get access to the Customs Declaration Service.
