Suspension of Generalised System of Preferences (GSP) for certain beneficiary countries and sections (CIP 04)

What will change

The Generalised System of Preferences will be suspended for certain countries, in accordance with Article 8(1) of Regulation (EU) 978/2012 and Regulation (EU) 2019/249.

When the change applies

The suspension applies from 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2022.

Who is affected by the change

The changes will apply to the countries and sections listed below.

  S-17a Railway or tramway locomotives, rolling-stock
  S-17b Motor vehicles, bicycles, aircraft and spacecraft, ships and boats
Indonesia S-1a Live animals and animal products excluding fish
  S-3 Animal or vegetable oils, fats and waxes
  S-5 Mineral products
  S-9a Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal
Kenya S-2a Live plants and floricultural products
