Before you start

You’ll need the:

  • employee tax code
  • payment date
  • period of pay, which could be:
    • weekly
    • 2 weekly
    • 4 weekly
    • monthly
  • amount paid before any deductions

From the previous pay period, you may also need the:

  • total gross pay
  • total tax due
  • amount of tax not deducted due to the regulatory limit
