Before you start
This calculator is only for the current tax year.
You’ll need:
- the period of pay, which could be:
- weekly
- every 2 weeks
- every 4 weeks
- monthly
- the date you were paid, if you’re an employee
- the date you paid your employee, if you’re an employer
- the amount paid before any deductions
- the employee’s National Insurance category letter — this can be found on the employee’s payslip
