Heart transplants and driving
You may need to tell DVLA if you have had a heart transplant.
You can be fined up to £1,000 if you do not tell DVLA about a medical condition that affects your driving. If you’re involved in an accident, you may be prosecuted.
Car or motorcycle licence
You do not need to tell DVLA, but you should stop driving for at least 1 month and only start driving again when your doctor tells you that you are safe to do so.
