CCM9060 - Cashcheque offences: Missing cashcheques: Claimant reports loss
If the claimant(s) loses their cashcheque or it is stolen or it never arrives in the first place they must contact the Helpline to report the loss. In some cases, the claimant may have obtained a crime reference number from the Police, although this is not compulsory, a record of the number may be kept.
When the claimant contacts the Helpline they will be provided with the missing cashcheque’s serial number and will be issued with a TC241 which they must complete and return to the Missing Payments Team (MPT) in the Tax Credit Office (TCO).
