Tasks undertaken by this team
Members of this team are responsible for the successful processing of monthly return information. The majority of returns will be processed using Rapid Data Capture (the scanning process). However, some returns may need to be captured manually.
HMRC support
Members of this team handle returns that are unsuitable for scanning and will require manual capture. They also:
- attempt to trace the contractor scheme when the reference is not shown on the return
- deal with any attachments that accompany the returns.
CISR user roles required by this team
On the Rapid Data Capture team staff should be allocated the CISR RDC Officer role. This allows them to:
- deal with attachments to returns and make sure that the returns are suitable for scanning
- manually log and capture returns.
To carry out some or all of these tasks a team member may need to view a customer’s CIS record. They may also need to view or check details of previous contacts with the customer (or customer’s representative).
