COM114031 - Pursuit: pursuit work lists: prolonged pursuit cases list (PURL) (Action Guide)
To deal with cases on the ‘Prolonged Pursuit Cases List’ in Banking Operations consider steps 1 - 8 below. The guide is presented as follows
Step 1 Initial Action
Steps 2 – 3 Where the date of the next action has not been reached
Steps 4 – 8 Where the date of the next action has passed
Initial Action
1. Use Function PURL (Prolonged Pursuit Cases List) to display the work list, then
- Select the entry that you want to work
And
- Select the [Options] button and use Function DPUR (Display Pursuit Action) to see the next action date and event recorded by the computer
Where the date of the next action has not been reached
2. If the next action displayed on Function DPUR (Display Pursuit Action) is correct
- Select the [B/F] button and set a B/F Date after the date of next action
3. If the next action displayed on Function DPUR (Display Pursuit Action) is incorrect, for example you wish to issue a different payment application or change the date of issue
- Use Function RAPP (Revise AP Pursuit) to set the correct next action and / or date
And
- In Function PURL (Prolonged Pursuit Cases List) select the [B/F] button and set a B/F Date after the date of next action
Where the date of the next action has passed
4. Use Function DPUR (Display Pursuit Action) to check that COTAX has taken the next action
5. If COTAX has taken the next action
- Select the [Delete] button to remove the case from the list
6. If COTAX has not taken the next action
- Use Function VTPR (View Taxpayer Records) to identify the reason why the computer was unable to take the next action displayed on Function DPUR (Display Pursuit Actions)
Note: This is normally the result of one of the following conditions on the record

All addresses are RLS

The ‘(270)solvency status’ has been set to ‘I’, ‘A’ or ‘V’ as the company is insolvent - see Function VTPR (View Taxpayer)

The company has been struck off - this date will also be displayed in Function VTPR (View Taxpayer)
7. If you cannot identify a reason why COTAX did not issue the payment application
- Use Function RAPP (Revise AP Pursuit) to set a next action to re-issue the payment application immediately
And
- In Function PURL (Prolonged Pursuit Cases List) select the [B/F]button and set a B/F Date after the date of next action
8. If the computer is either unable to issue payment applications automatically (see for example the Note at Step 5) or the action at Step 7 is unsuccessful

Use Function RAPP (Revise AP Pursuit) to make the case ‘(23)LA’ at the Debt Management Office

Tell the Debt Management Office why you have referred the case to them
